How to Use Lapu-lapu like a Pro (MLBB)

Lapu Lapu is a Fighter/Assassin. He thrives in the early to mid stages of the game because of his base damage. Though he is not completely irrelevant in late game I would recommend becoming bassically a second tank to zone the enemy backline. Here is the build I use with Lapu Lapu to get the most out of him.

When you first get into the game you will want to upgrade your 1st ability as its your main clearing source. You want to clear the wave and farm. You dont really want to go agressive untill you get to level 4, but if you can poke the enemy with your first ability. When using your ult(3rd ability) it is best to use it with set up from your allies since the ability itself has a charge up effect, though this is not neccissary. When leveling your abilitys prioritize your ult then your 1st then your 2nd. Always be sure to use that passive as much as you can by throwing your first at some jungle monsters or at an enemy to charge it up. The best combo is your 3rd-2nd-1st. That is your strongest combo. Make sure to try to kill the marksman or the mage in the team fights.

Battle Spells:
Iron Wall: This allows you to be so tanky even before you get your defence items online it will allow you to get up in the face of the backline for a lot longer which is exactly what you want.
Flicker: This is also a great spell that could work for everyone but I dont recommend on Lapu as much since he does have a dash to help in or out of fights.

BUILD(Picture at the Bottom):
In this build we are going to build something that will enhance your early game power and then build defence items so that you can still be relevant in the late game. Before anything you want to buy a Hunters Knife to help you kill jungle mosters alot faster. You will sell this later in order to get your 6th item.

Bloodlust Axe: +70 Physical ATK, 10% CD Reduction. Passive – When skills cause damage, heals 20% of damage as HP for the hero.
This is a core item for Lapu Lapu. You mostly want it for the Life Steal and Physical Attack. This item helps you sustain in the early game and give you extra damage you might need to take out an enemy.

Warrior Boots: +22 Armor. Passive – 40 Movement SPD, Physical defence will go up 5 with each basic attack recieved for and increase of up to 25, lasting 5 seconds. This will give you the movement speed you want to get around the map faster along with some defence to help against ganks and fo help gou survive if anything happens.

Hunter Strike: +100 Physical ATK, 10% CD Reduction. Passive – Attacks the Enemy 5 times in a row and improves the heroes movement speed by 30% for 2s. This effect had a cooldown of 15s. This will be your last offensive item before you start building pure defence. You want to gef this item because of its Physical Attack and the extra movement speed you get when you attack someone. This will give you that bit of speed you might need to get into the backline.

Blade Armor: +90 Armor. Passive – Deals 25% of Opponets Physical Attack to an attacker when basic attack is recieved. Now that you are approaching mid-game you want to start building some defence so that you can survive long enough to do some damage this item in particular will help you against marksman with life steal.

Athena’s Shield: +900 HP, +56 Magic RES, 20 HP Regen. Passive – Get a damage absorving shield every 30s. Shield absorvation amount grows as the match goes on maxing out at 1150. This item will be your first magical protection item. The shield will help mintigate some burst damage that most mages want to do.

Immortality: +800 HP, +40 Magic RES. Passive – Resurrect 2s after dying and get 15% HP and a shield that can absorb 300-1000 pts of  damage. Shield lasts for 3s. Cooldown for this effect is 180s. This is such a strong item overall and is viable on any hero plus it helps build up that magic resistance that you will be looking for.

Once you have bought Immortality you can choose to buy a defence potion and buy more defence items depending on what is your situation in the game.

Some of the heroes that work really well with Lapu is tigreal because of the setup that tigreal brings for Lapu to get that double stun. Cyclops because of of his abilty to lock someone in place allowing Lapu to follow up with his ult. Rafaela because of her ability to set up for Lapu Lapu’s ult.
Some heroes that Lapu counters is Odette because as soon as he sees her ult he can ult her to stun her and can then follow up. Sun is mo match for Lapu becuase of his area of effect ultamate that can instantly help detect which is the real Son. Lapu goes well against Argus since Argus wants to go in, ult then keep attacking you so that he will regen alot of help but with Lapu’s stun it wont allow him to.
Who to avoid: In general you want to avoid anyone with hard cc other than a root (Stuns, Knockbacks and Knock Ups.) because they wont allow Lapu into his ult if they see him channeling it. These are more notiably Aurora, Eudora, Moskov and a few more than can make Lapu’s life hard.
With that this guide has come to a concusion I hope that you become a pro Lapu Lapu player as I dont see many Lapu Lapu’s in my ranked games. Have fun!
